Day One Arrive in Rome. Buy a cappuccino even though I’m scared to make a fool of myself. Train problems. Getting lost problems. Walk all around Rome. Pasta with mushrooms and Pizza with charismatic waiter.

Day Two Yummy toast. Train to Florence. Duomo – walk to top and enjoy Baptistery. Walk everywhere. Appetizer dinner.

Day Three Uffitzi – Bottichelli and palettes of street painters. Fisoli - #7 bus up above city.

Day Four Cinque Terre! Yummy artichoke dinner. Driving.

Day Five Drive from /Florence to Rome. Stop at Cortona – most beautiful medieval town ever. Way up high on a mountain. Walled. Chocolate and pine nut gelato. Buy lots of presents. Get stuck in traffic on the way back to Rome. Lots of fun with Jill. Risotto with peas and asparagus.

Day Six Wander around Forum getting off-synch with audio guide. Walk forever. Find new hotel room. Sweaty stinky gorgeous nap. Dinner down the street – yum. Flirt with waiter. 4 gelatos! First lemon and mango and then lemon and chocolate.

Day Seven Brunch with Francesca. Move back to The Beehive – this time the Dorm. Go to Museum of Rome. Wow’ed by mosaics and sculpted folds. Find bike tour cancelled. Subway to ST. Peters. Walk back/ Pantheon in rain. Back to my restaurant sans flirting waiter.
