The First Stitch
Posted Monday, Apr 11th, 2011 at 1:11pmI have just started working on a quilt of all the scraps of fabric I have left over from the past 20 years of parenting. I am hiring someone to make the quilt but will be embroidering most of the pieces to tell what projects they came from. Here is the first piece:
It is a little piece of cyanotype fabric that came with a cyanotype (blueprint) t-shirt.
I expect this to take me at least a year.

Great idea! This looks like it will be a very fun project. to work on and it's funny how a pattern of fabric can bring back those memories that seem attached to them.

Awesome project. My sister made one with fabric from relatives no longer with us -- interesting to try and collect -- and madea beautiful quilt they used for a chupah. I love your project and will stay tuned. A year of embroidering scraps of memories:awesome!
