Well I've walked 14-mile-long (approx) photo walks in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. It was time for Queens. Thanks to Nicholas Cummins I had a route to take me through some of the most diverse neighborhoods.
1e4 commentsBack in December I was in NYC for my Crane Beach book release. One of my favorite things to do is to walk around NYC. I've done three major borough photo walks so far but I am always walking hither and yon in NY. Here is a series of photos from a walk I took starting in Chinatown where my parents live, walking over the Williamsburg Bridge, stopping at Mast Brother's Chocolate, and heading back home to Chinatown. Most of the photos are of the graffiti on the bridge.

748 commentsOn my recent trip to NYC, I spent a sunny spring Mayday walking from the northern end of Manhattan to my parent's house on the southern end. I started by taking a train up to the Cloisters - a magnificent collection of medieval art (Cloisters). It isn't on the northern tip of Manhattan - but it's pretty far up there. It would be at about 200th. street if the streets were numbered up there.
