My first choice for siding was corrugated metal but the city was not too hot on the little house looking so different from my house. In the end I went for the more conservative approach. I asked my wonderful contractor, Tom Champion, to copy the siding on my house. They made a very good copy on the little house even though it involved routing each piece. And then I asked for shingles on the top half of the little house - again like my house.
Here are some color schemes I am trying out:
You can see how they compare to what is on my house now. I plan to paint the big house next summer to match whatever I've picked for the little house.
Here is the inside primed white - ain't she beautiful? I will have them put another coat of white for the final color inside.
Color studies with dishware for inspiration:
I wish there was a color that matched the "celadon" of my pottery!

Thanks for the progression. What a joy to watch it unfold into its current beauty.
